The detailsview fired event itemupdating which wasn t

Hi While working with Details View control I have come up with few resources when you want to perform update to the data within Details View using buttons out side of Details View control. Here is the source code to update all the columns in Details View with edited data. The instructions made it sound as if upon changing the properties to enable the edit/delete/insert buttons that all the code would be automagically created (or at least the stubs). So if anyone can provide me with a better source on how to fix this I would be obliged. Changing the mode forces the control to dump its contents and rebind, and rebind only works if there's a data source. I suspect that this is because the original question listed in thetitle has been answered and people don't understand that the answer to this question created follow up issues. However, when I tested it I got the error "The Details View 'dv Grid' fired event Mode Changing which wasn't handled." This post stated "Either implement that event or remove the handler from the code-behind." This however made no sense to me. All these webforms controls require the data source to operate, and auto editing, auto deleting, auto sorting, etc. Am I creating the markup for a second third and fourth detailsview to display what is needed for edit, delete, and insert? So to be clear: Just one line in Mode Changing (the one in boldface). Since it is not possible to generate the event handler from the drop down at the top of the page, (like you can do with, I need information on the arguments. So i will close it giving points to Web_Jose for fixing the original issue and start another thread outlining my current issue. This is my first experience using the details view. The fifth one sent me to Startv20/util/srcview.aspx? I was able to populate it from one datasource if the selection were made at the top level, or a different datasource if it were populated at the inner level.I followed the instructions given on to implement editing, deletes and inserts. path=~/aspnet/samples/data/Grid View Master Details which did not have any mention of that event, but called the method "Change Mode" twice. I am not getting any further feedback on this thread. Raise Post Back Event(String event Argument) 135 System. Raise Post Back Event(String event Argument) 10 System.

On Bubble Event(Object source, Event Args e) 95 System.

I have to click Edit and Cancel twice for them to do their action.

The first and second click are calling the Mode Changing method so I assume there is something wrong with my code and the same with just B's code.

Note that regard less of old values and new values database is updated with all the data in Details View(edited columns and non-edited columns).

//ASPX //code behind c# using System; using System.

If I don't put in the Mode Changing event implementation I get an exception: "The Details View 'dvw Work Item' fired event Mode Changing which wasn't handled." I do intend on adding other custom code into this method because certain actions need to happen when you start editing or inserting.
